To Enter The Door -3

Continuing a theme To Enter The Door -1 & 2, here are some poems today.

When we knock at some doors,
Thinking that that they are locked,
A polite sweet voice chimes from within,
“Door is open, please step inside”.

When we push open some doors,
Thinking that they are kept open,
A gruff, and harsh voice shouts,
“door is locked, go away.”

The doors seldom reflect ,
The desire of the voices within.
--- Vasant Chendil, translated by P.R.Ramachander

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.
--- Rumi

Rise early at dawn, when our storytelling begins.
In the dead of the night, when all other doors are
locked,
the door for the Lovers to enter opens.
Be wide awake in the dark when Lovers
begin fluttering around the Beloved's window,
like homing pigeons arriving with flaming bodies.
--- Abu-Said Abil-Kheir

Belief brings me close to You
but only to the door.
It is only by disappearing into
Your mystery
that I will come in.
---Hakim Sanai Al-Ghaznavi

There was a Door to which I found no Key:
There was a Veil through which I could not see:
Some little Talk awhile of Me and Thee
There seemed -- and then no more of Thee and Me.
--- Omar Khayyam
