Ahimsa Prathamam Pushpam,
Pushpam Indriya nigraham
Sarvabhoota daya Pushpam,
Kshama pushpam visheshataha
Gnanam pushpam, tapo pushpam,
Dhyanam pushpam tataiva cha|
Satyam ashTavidam pushpam
Vishhuho preetikaram bhavEt ||
Ahimsa is non violence, indriya nigraha is control over the senses,
sarva-bhUta-dayA - showing compassion to all living beings
or kindness, kshama is tolerance, patience or forgiveness, gyana is knowledge, wisdom; tapas - austerity, dhyAnam - contemplative meditation and satyam - truth.
