Padma hastaaya dheemahi
Tanno Raahu prachodayaat
Rahu is one of the Navagrahas in Vedic astrology. In Hindu tradition, he is a cut-off head of an asura, that swallows the sun causing eclipses. He is depicted in art as a serpent with no body riding a chariot drawn by eight black horses. According to a myth, Rahu was punished by Lord Vishnu on the complaints of Sun and Moon during the occasion of drinking immortal nectar by all gods. Since then Rahu and his cut body or Ketu are taking revenge by causing sun and moon eclipses.Padma hastaaya dheemahi
